The Iwate Snow Festival is held at Koiwai Farm, one of Japan’s finest farms. This event is a signature of the Tohoku region and a classic sight of Iwate in winter. There are slides, snow trains, and more to see, touch, and play with. Pop-up shops serving local f ood are here. One f avorite is t he mutton and vegetables served inside of snow huts. At night, the snow creations are illuminated, and you can see fireworks go up. The festival is fun from morning through night.
