Yonezawa beef is a brand of black wagyu (Japanese beef) raised in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture and surrounding areas. It is considered to be one of the three most famous wagyu brands in Japan along with Matsusaka beef and Kobe beef. Yonezawa beef sukiyaki is a delicacy made with thinly sliced Yonezawa beef and garnished with scallions, Chinese cabbage, grilled tofu, and other ingredients.
